Community in Action!

Our students took centre stage at the Ardwick Climate Action Neighbourhood Nature Day, launching interactive stalls to promote sustainability and safety.

The school's dedicated Eco Council teamed up with the Junior PCSOs (Police Community Support Officers) to actively engage with residents at the Ardwick Climate Action event, held at the Brunswick Community Centre.

Students Champion a Greener, Safer Community

The student-led initiative focused on direct, positive community impact through two key themes:

  • Interactive Eco-Stalls: Members of the Eco Council ran live demonstrations and distributed practical eco-tips to help local families reduce waste, boost biodiversity, and lower their carbon footprint.
  • Safety & Environment Partnership: The Junior PCSOs worked alongside the eco-teams, highlighting how protecting green spaces directly contributes to creating a safer and more welcoming neighbourhood environment.

School leaders expressed immense pride in the children's leadership, noting that their hands-on dedication effectively bridged the gap between classroom environmental education and real-world local action.

Event Details & Support

The neighbourhood gathering was organised by Ardwick Climate Action as part of an ongoing effort to rejuvenate urban green spaces across Manchester. By involving youth groups and schools like the Co-op Academy Medlock, the event highlighted the power of intergenerational teamwork in tackling local environmental issues.
